Two ways Chelsea boss Tuchel can utilize new signing Chukwuemeka
Published: August 05, 2022
Chelsea announced the capture of Super Eagles eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Premier League rivals Aston Villa on Thursday morning.
The deal is set to be worth up to 20 million pounds and the player has resumed immediately at Chelsea's Training Centre.
Ahead of the new season which begins on Friday 5th of August 2022, allnigeriasoccer.com takes a look at two ways Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel can utilize Chukwuemeka.
First rotational option
With N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho as first choices, Chukwuemeka can provide an adequate rotational option for any of the three players ahead of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Kante has suffered with injury problems and Chukwuemeka would have enough game-time as the Blues compete on four fronts next season.
Early Cup Round games
Chelsea would be participating in four competitions next season and surely needs a big squad to compete properly.
The early Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup rounds are a perfect avenue to rest first-team players which will provide valuable game-time for Chukwuemeka.
Some Champions League group stage games also provide a good choice for Tuchel to utilize the youngster.
