Published: August 16, 2022
Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of confirming the capture of Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent, Destiny Udogie.
The Udinese left-back arrived in the capital of England, London on Sunday to undergo a traditional medical ahead of completing a permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Udogie will sign a multi-year contract with The Lilywhites and then return to Italy to spend the remainder of the season at Udinese.
The versatile defender was accompanied on the trip by Gianluca Di Carlo, intermediary in the transfer on behalf of Tottenham, and agents Stefano Antonelli and Ferdinando Guarino.
Speaking at the Verona Airport before boarding his flight to London, Udogie told Tuttomercatoweb : "I'm very happy. It's a good feeling to go to the Premier League, work with Conte, sign with Tottenham.
"I am convinced that with Mr. Conte I will be able to develop further. For now it is also important to return on loan to Udine, I want to have a good season."
Udogie had a breakout season at Udinese last campaign with five goals and three assists across thirty-seven appearances in all competitions.
The 19-year-old was left out of the Udinese squad for their season opener in the Serie A against AC Milan and was also not involved in the Coppa Italia clash versus FeralpiSalò on August 5.
