U18 PL : Golden Eaglets-eligible striker makes competitive debut for Manchester United
Published: August 20, 2022Golden Eaglets-eligible striker Victor Musa has made his competitive debut for Manchester United U18s while still a schoolboy.
The Spain youth teamer of Nigerian descent hopped off the bench in the 86th minute to replace another Nigeria-eligible player in Maxi Oyedele as the Red Devils registered an impressive 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in their first game in this season's U18 Premier League.
Oyedele played his second game for Manchester United youth teams in the space of a day, having made his season debut off the bench in a Premier League 2 clash against Everton on Friday evening.
Musa was rewarded with his U18s debut following his brilliant performances for Manchester United U16 and U17 sides.
The 2006-born attacker was on target against Minnesota United and New York City in the MLS Generation Cup U17 back in April.
Just before his first official game for Manchester United U18s, he bagged a brace for the U16s as they thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0.
In a repeat of the 2022 FA Youth Cup final, United led 2-0 at half-time courtesy of strikes from Norkett and Ethan Williams, before Wheatley netted with fifteen minutes left on the clock to seal a comprehensive win.
Musa has also represented England at U16 level.
