Super Eagles-eligible midfielder wins Carabao Cup round one award

Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Dennis Adeniran has won the award for best goal scored in the Carabao Cup round one.
The Sheffield Wednesday football club's youngster scored the goal against Sunderland AFC.
Sheffield Wednesday FC locked horns with Sunderland AFC on the 10th of August, 2022 for a place in round two of the EFL Carabao Cup.
The game ended 2-0 in favor of the Owls courtesy of goals from Dennis Adeniran and Sylla Sow.
The Fulham academy product on the night scored one and assisted the other.
He beat off competition from Tyler Roberts (Queens Park Rangers), Aaron Henry (Charlton Athletic), Carlos Mendes Gomes (Luton Town) and Jacob Sorensen (Norwich City) to win the best goal of round one.
The EFL Carabao Cup Twitter handle announced the 23-year-old as winner.

Dennis and the Owls will be looking forward to getting a promotion ticket to the Sky Bet Championship this season.
He has been included in the matchday squad three times this season, playing two and was a non-playing substitute in one.
