Official : Nigeria-eligible striker decides to return to Chelsea
Published: August 27, 2022
Chelsea announced on Friday that Norway youth international of Nigerian descent Bryan Fiabema has been recalled from his loan spell at Norwegian giants Rosenborg, four months before the original agreement between the two clubs was due to expire.
The Norwegian-Nigerian was loaned out to Rosenborg last March with a purchase option included in the deal taking him to Trondheim.
RBK sporting director Micke Dorsin has revealed that Rosenborg and Chelsea reached a club-to-club agreement for the permanent transfer of Fiabema but the striker wanted to go back to London.
Speaking to Rosenborg's official website, Dorsin said on Saturday evening : "We really wanted to have Bryan with us further.
"We agreed with Chelsea but were unable to find a solution with Bryan. He is thus returning to Chelsea".
Fiabema signed a professional contract with Chelsea upon turning seventeen in February 2020 and the current agreement between club and player expires next June.
The 19-year-old has scored sixteen goals in all competitions for Chelsea youth teams.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Fiabema wants to try his luck with a club based in Central Europe including the Belgian and Dutch Leagues and another loan move from Chelsea before the close of the transfer window cannot be entirely ruled out.
