Napoli boss admits it would be difficult to say no if Man Utd offered N42b for Nigeria star
Published: August 29, 2022Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has admitted that it would be difficult to say no to Manchester United if the Premier League club made an offer of 100 million euros (approximately N42 billion) for Victor Osimhen.
The Nigeria international has been linked with a hypothetical transfer to Manchester United before the close of the summer transfer window in a move that would see Cristiano Ronaldo head in the opposite direction.
Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda and Luciano Spalletti have made it clear that no negotiations have taken place over a potential transfer of the Nigeria international to Manchester United.
United boss Erik Ten Hag has also suggested that the Red Devils did not need to sign another striker before the close of the summer transfer window.
Signed from Lille for a Nigerian transfer record of 70 million euros, Osimhen is valued in the region of 100 million euros by Napoli.
Spalletti was asked to react to reports Manchester United could let Cristiano Ronaldo leave on loan to Napoli, if they were to spend €100m on Victor Osimhen.
The Italian coach was quoted as saying by Football Italia : "I don’t have time to think about these things, we have a game every few days. Is the club thinking about it? The club thinks of any situation that is of interest to our players.
"I say that if a club offers you €100m, it is not easy to say no. Since I arrived here, all the players have been on the market for the right price."
Osimhen's scoring run ended with Napoli held to a goalless draw by Fiorentina in a Serie A game at Stadio Artemio Franchi (Firenze) on Sunday night.
