Super Eagles star named in French Ligue 1 Team of the Week
Published: August 29, 2022
Super Eagles star Moses Simon has been selected for Whoscored.com's French Ligue 1 Team of the Week for match week four.
The winger scored and provided an assist for Nantes in their comeback win against Toulouse at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday, August 28.
Four minutes into the second half, Evann Guessand equalised when he headed in at the near post after a cross from Simon.
The 2019 AFCON bronze winner turned from provider to scorer when he fired in from close range on the hour mark.
Simon's goal was initially disallowed for offside but it was later given after a VAR review.
With a rating of 8.7, the Nigerian was the joint-top rated player named to the Team of the Week, along with Angers glovesman Paul Bernardoni.
