Two players of Nigerian descent named in Tottenham Hotspur's UYL squad
Published: September 04, 2022Two exciting teenagers of Nigerian descent have been named in Tottenham Hotspur's UEFA Youth League roster ahead of their opening match in the competition against Marseille.
According to the official website of UEFA, Tottenham Hotspur U19 head coach Wayne Burnett will be able to call upon the services of Callum Olusesi and Oyindamola Ajayi for the game against the French opponents.
The north Londoners will also face Sporting Lisbon and Eintracht Frankfurt in Group D.
Aged 15, Olusesi is a midfielder who has regularly played up the age groups for Spurs' youth teams.
In the new season, the England underage international has appeared in two matches in the U18 Premier League while still a schoolboy and started against Liverpool in the U18 Premier League Cup on Saturday.
First year scholar Ajayi has recorded five appearances in the U18 Premier League and found the net in his last outing in the division against Arsenal on August 27.
Tottenham Hotspur academy product Timothy Eyoma is Nigeria's all-time appearance maker in the UEFA Youth League with 25 games.
