Official : Talented goalkeeper signs new deal with Chelsea
Published: November 12, 2022Through their official website, Chelsea have announced that talented goalkeeper Max Merrick has signed a new deal with the club.
Merrick has put pen to paper on his first professional contract with The Blues, a deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until at least the end of the 2024-2025 season.
He joined Chelsea at U13 level from grassroots football following a successful trial.
The High Wycombe-born player is a quick and agile goalkeeper who commands his box well and has the ability to play out of the back comfortably when using his feet.
In the current season, the 17-year-old has appeared for Chelsea's youth teams in the UEFA Youth League, U18 Premier League and U18 Premier League Cup, and was a non-playing substitute in Papa Johns Trophy and Premier League 2 games.
Merrick was a first year scholar at Chelsea before going professional.
