Romano provides update on Man Utd target Osimhen, confirms price tag for summer 2022
Published: November 26, 2022Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Victor Osimhen is not for sale in the January transfer window amid speculation linking the Nigeria national teamer with a transfer to Manchester United when the transfer window reopens for business.
Cristiano Ronaldo's second spell with Manchester United came to an end this week after an interview with Piers Morgan, where he spoke out against almost everyone connected with the club.
The Red Devils are now in the market for a marquee center forward to fill the void created by the departure of the Portugal superstar and have Osimhen on their radar.
Romano revealed that the Super Eagles star was valued at 120 million euros in the summer transfer window and explained why he's not moved by recent reports that United will attempt to sign the former Lille man in January.
Writing in his column for Caughtoffside, Romano said : "We know Manchester United are likely to be in the market for attacking players to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t get too excited about links with Victor Osimhen.
"Napoli insist they won't sell Osimhen or any other player in January. The price tag in the summer was €120m and nothing happened, now they're doing great in Serie A and Champions League so there are no plans to sell him in January at all."
Apart from Manchester United, some other Premier League clubs are reportedly eager to snap up Osimhen, with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.
