U18 PL : Red-hot Anglo-German-Nigerian striker scores for Everton v Liverpool
Published: November 26, 2022Everton defeated Liverpool 2-1 in an U18 Premier League match at Finch Farm on Saturday with red-hot striker Coby Ebere getting on the scoresheet for the Toffees.
His strike in the Merseyside derby took his tally to five goals in his last seven games for Everton's youth teams.
Ebere had two chances inside the opening twenty minutes to break the deadlock but was denied by the brilliant Liverpool goalkeeper Luke Hewitson.
Martin Sherif finished off a pass from Sam Coughlan to open the scoring seven minutes before halftime.
With four minutes remaining, Ebere lashed home a powerful shot to double the advantage after a counter-attack, but the Reds halved the deficit through Kelly in stoppage time.
Born in Germany, Ebere is eligible to represent England, Germany and Nigeria at international level.
He signed his first professional contract in September 2022, a three-year deal that will keep him at Everton until the summer of 2025.
