Confirmed team news : Two Flying Eagles - eligible players start on the bench for Man Utd v Cadiz
Published: December 07, 2022Manchester United have announced their matchday squad for Wednesday evening's friendly against La Liga side Cadiz CF at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has named the starting lineup that will face the Spanish side and two Flying Eagles - eligible players will not be on the pitch from the very beginning of the game.
Versatile defender Maximillian Oyedele and exciting winger Shola Shoretire start on the bench.
Argentina U20 international Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga have gotten the nod over Shoretire to start on the flanks, while Teden Mengi and Victor Lindelof are the preferred options in the heart of defence.
Blessed with physical attributes and good feet, Poland U19 international of Nigerian descent Oyedele is capable of playing as a central defender and in the engine room, just as he does for United's youth teams.
It will be Oyedele's first appearance for Manchester United's first team if given minutes off the bench, albeit in a non-competitive game.
Manchester United starting XI : Dubravka; Wan-Bissaka, Mengi, Lindelof, Williams; McTominay, Iqbal; Elanga, van de Beek, Garnacho; Martial.
Substitutes: Heaton, Bishop, Bennett, Bernard, Fredericson, Hardley, Jurado, Murray, Oyedele, Gore, Hansen-Aaroen, Mainoo, Savage, Emeran, Hugill, McNeill, Shoretire.
