Chelsea are interested in signing 2022 World Cup star of African descent Ousmane Dembélé.
Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo claims that Chelsea are back in the race for the Barcelona winger and manager Graham Potter has requested the signing of the France international to add speed to the Blues attack.
Dembele is under contract with Barcelona until June 30,2024 and has a release clause of fifty million euros.
Chelsea attempted to sign the 25-year-old in the summer but he decided to continue playing for Barcelona after talks with coach Xavi Hernandez,
Barcelona are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Dembele to extend his stay at the Camp Nou beyond the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Born to a Malian father and Mauritanian-Senegalese mother, he has mustered 37 goals and 41 assists in 170 matches since his arrival at Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
At the ongoing World Cup in Qatar, Dembele has provided two assists in six matches.
