Golden Eaglets-eligible striker makes his starting league debut for Man Utd U18s
Published: December 17, 2022
Golden Eaglets-eligible striker Victor Musa made his starting league debut for Manchester United U18s in their 3-0 rout of Middlesbrough at Carrington on Saturday afternoon.
Six days after he made his full debut for the Red Devils U18s in a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace in the FA Youth Cup, the Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian frontman was named in the starting lineup for the visit of Boro.
He was utilized off the bench in previous games in the U18 Premier League against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Manchester City.
In the summer of 2021, Manchester United bolstered their academy ranks with the signing of Musa, who attended St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College.
Musa is set to spark a tug-of-war over his international future in the coming years as he is eligible to represent England, Spain and Nigeria and has already been capped at youth level by the two European countries.
Everything indicates that the 2006-born player will be offered a scholarship deal by Manchester United ahead of next season.
United thrashed Boro 3-0 thanks to an own goal and strikes from Manni Norkett and Jack Moorhouse.
