Confirmed team news : Anglo-Nigerian fullback ruled out of Charlton's trip to Man Utd
Published: January 09, 2023
Anglo-Nigerian defender Mandela Egbo will miss Charlton Athletic's Carabao Cup quarterfinal clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday under the lights.
The Addicks confirmed on their official website that Egbo is still recovering from a quad injury and is not available for selection.
The Crystal Palace academy product has not played for Charlton Athletic since October 29, 2022 when he ruptured his quad in a League One clash against Ipswich Town at the Valley.
Egbo has had injury problems since his arrival at Charlton last summer as he also missed the start of the 2022-2023 campaign after suffering an injury in a pre-season friendly with Dartford.
An attacking right-back, Egbo has not been involved in the last fifteen games contested by the Addicks in all competitions, including two in the Carabao Cup.
The 25-year-old will be present at Old Trafford on Tuesday to cheer on his Charlton Athletic teammates.
A European U17 champion with England in 2014, he lists Borussia Mönchengladbach, New York Red Bulls, Swindon Town and SV Darmstadt 98 as his previous clubs.
