Published: January 09, 2023
With a statement on their official website, National League South club Chelmsford City have confirmed that Anglo-Nigerian goalkeeper Ovie Ejeheri will be returning to his parent club Arsenal after tonight's BBC Essex Senior Cup tie with Coggeshall Town.
The 19-year-old Ejeheri joined the Clarets in the summer transfer window in search of first team football.
Since his loan move in July 2022, he played in 25 games combined in three different competitions including The Vanarama National South, The Emirates FA Cup and The Isuzu FA Trophy.
Statistically, Ejeheri was one of the top goalkeepers in the division, posting twelve clean sheets while conceding fourteen goals.
In recognition of his outstanding performances, he was named Chelmsford City's Player of the Month for November.
Last season, Ejeheri represented Arsenal youth teams in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and Papa John's Trophy, where he faced Football League opposition in the form of Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town, Newport County and Swindon Town.
He officially joined Arsenal at the age of eight and signed his first professional contract in August 2021.
