PSV eye move for Manchester United rising star after sale of Madueke to Chelsea
Published: January 28, 2023
PSV Eindhoven could reportedly make a move for two Manchester United academy graduates to replace Noni Madueke and Cody Gakpo, who transferred to Chelsea and Liverpool in the winter transfer market.
England U21 international of Nigerian descent Madueke joined Chelsea on a seven-and-a-half-year contract last week, with the club holding the option to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge for a further year.
PSV ended their association with the inverted winger in exchange for 35 million euros.
According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, via Voetbalkrant, PSV have drawn up a list of potential replacements for Madueke and Gakpo.
Manchester United-reared Sevilla winger Adnan Januzaj is a player of interest and another United academy graduate Anthony Elanga is also on the radar of the Eindhoven club.
The two players have received little playing time this season, with the Belgium international logging 125 minutes across all competitions and the Swede in action for 607 minutes.
Madueke, who appeared in 80 official matches for PSV and was involved in 34 goals, is in contention to make his competitive debut for Chelsea in a London derby versus Fulham on Friday, February 3.
