Jay-Jay Okocha admits Partey is having a very solid season, backs Arsenal to win EPL

Nigeria and Bolton Wanderers legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, in an interview with the German press, has acknowledged that Black Stars assistant captain Thomas Partey is having a very solid season at Arsenal.
Partey joined Arsenal in 2020 after his 50 million euro buyout clause was activated by the Gunners.
One of the most dependable central midfielders in La Liga during his time with Atletico Madrid, Partey took time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League and was frequently on the sidelines due to injury.
This season, the 29-year-old has finally started to live up to the hype that made him one of the most sought-after midfielders in Spain, with two goals in seventeen Premier League appearances, all of which he started.
Asked if he thinks Partey is underestimated by the fans and media, Okocha told Wettfreunde : "No, I don't think so, he's always been injured, but this season he's finally able to reach his full potential."
Okocha believes Arsenal have a good chance to win the Premier League this season but it could depend on the outcome of their two games against Manchester City.
With sixteen wins and two draws, the Emirates Stadium outfit sit five points above second-placed Manchester City who have played a game more.
"Manchester City is surprisingly losing a lot of games this season for its standards. Arsenal are consistently good, I assume the defeat at Everton was just a slip-up recently.
I trust Arsenal to become champions, but for that he has to do well in both duels against Man City," Okocha added.
Mikel Arteta's team will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome Frank Onyeka's Brentford to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, February 11.
