Musa scores in third consecutive game for Manchester United youth team
Published: February 11, 2023
Victor Musa continued his rich vein of form by scoring for the third consecutive game as Manchester United defeated Newcastle United 3-0 in an U18 Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.
The Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian youngster opened his goalscoring account in the division against Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 28 and a week later, made it two in as many games in a 1-1 draw with Derby County.
After a goalless first half, United scored two goals inside three minutes in the second half to take the lead.
Musa was involved in the build-up to the opener in the 47th minute as his blocked shot was set up nicely for James Nolan to slot home from inside the box, and the Golden Eaglets-eligible striker doubled the advantage with a lovely finish.
His second of the game came deep into stoppage time as he rattled a shot into the bottom corner after the ball was given away.
Musa, who is his final season as a schoolboy, is expected to sign a scholarship deal with Manchester United ahead of next season.
United, who are unbeaten in their last ten matches, are third in the standings with 27 points from thirteen matches played.
