Ex-Ajax winger highlights two attributes of Bassey that would be of benefit to English PL clubs

Former Ajax Amsterdam winger Kenneth Perez has highlighted the two key attributes of Calvin Bassey that would be of benefit to English Premier League clubs.
The Dutch champions have been criticized by pundits and fans alike for paying over the odds to sign the Nigeria international.
Bassey became the most expensive Nigerian defender in history last July when he switched to Ajax from Glasgow Rangers for a fee of 23 million euros and with performance-related add-ons, the fee could rise to €26.5m.
The versatile central defender has had a tough start to his career at Ajax Amsterdam, and to add insult to injury he lost his place in the starting lineup in the wake of Alfred Schreuder's dismissal following a poor run of results.
Against RKC Waalwijk on Sunday, Bassey impressed off the bench and the highlight of his performance was providing the assist for Ajax's second goal.
Perez reckons that Ajax can still make a profit on the Nigerian if he is sold to an English Premier League club in future, given his speed and physicality.
"If he comes in now with his speed and physicality, then there will be an English club. Those English are crazy enough," Perez said on ESPN, via Ajax Showtime.
"Just because you don't play in the Champions League, the value of players is a lot less."
It is believed that Bassey will command a high transfer fee if he were to move to the Premier League as he is a homegrown player, having spent the formative years of his career at Leicester City.
