Published: February 16, 2023
Anglo-Nigerian striker Elijah Adebayo has won Luton Town's Diamond Player of the Month for January 2023, informs the official website of the Hatters.
Adebayo has taken the January accolade on the back of his impressive performances and finished first in the poll with 44 percent of the vote.
He was involved in all the seven matches played by Luton Town last month, six of which he started, and was on target five times.
Adebayo netted in five consecutive matches, starting with his header against West Brom, followed by goals against Wigan Athletic (2) , Grimsby Town and Cardiff City.
The 25-year-old's sensational form also saw him nominated for the PFA Vertu Motors Fans' Player of the Month for January 2023, along with Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom, ex-Bristol City star Antoine Semenyo, Norwich City's Teemu Pukki, Burnley's Ian Maatsen and Coventry City's Kasey Palmer.
In 176 career appearances in the Football League, Adebayo has notched 52 goals for Luton Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town, Stevenage and Walsall FC.
A product of the Fulham academy, Adebayo joined Luton Town in February 2021.
