Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, was at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night to watch Arsenal take on reigning champions Manchester City in a blockbuster Premier League clash.
City beat the Gunners 3-1 thanks to goals from Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, while former Nigeria target Bukayo Saka pulled one back for the home team.
Patoranking took to social media on Thursday to reveal that he presented the Arsenal Player of the Month award for January 2023 to versatile Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko just before kickoff.
The Lagos-born musician admitted that he was disappointed to see Arsenal lose to Pep Guardiola's team.
"I was honored to present “The player of the month” Award to Zinchenko Last Night…Not the result we wanted but we Move," Patoranking wrote on Twitter.
Zinchenko polled 48 per cent of the votes to claim the Arsenal Player of the Month for the first time since his summer move from Manchester City,
The number 35 started all the three Premier League matches played by Arsenal last month and was substituted in against Oxford United and Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup.
Patoranking is an ardent Arsenal fan going by his social media activities.
