U20 AFCON : Four observations from Group A match involving Flying Eagles' next opponent

Nigeria's U-20 national team, Flying Eagles will face Mozambique in their last group game of the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ladan Bosso and his team will be hard pressed to get a win or a draw against hosts, Egypt Wednesday evening before that all-important fixture.

Pape Diallo' scored twice for Senegal while Pape Diop got the other as Senegal literally booked their place in the quarterfinals of the tournament with the 3-0 victory.

These are All Nigeria Soccer's takeaways on how Nigeria's next group rivals on Saturday performed before the Egypt crunch game.

1. Ultra defensive Mozambique

Mozambique defended deeply and in low blocks. They depended on the counter attacks to catch the attack-minded Senegalese side on the fast breaks.

Pape Diallo scored just before the break as the Junior Teranga Lions beat them at their own game.

2. Mozambique fail to deal with rebounds

Senegal's Pape Diop pounced on the rebound after Samba Diallo's low shot came off the foot of the post.

The goal was similar to the one they scored against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria as the goalkeeper of the Mozambique side could not hold the ball firmly.

Diop reacted quickest to slot home from close range.

3. Second half resurgence

Mozambique came out of the blocks after going down 2-0 in a bid to score a goal and stand a chance to get back into the game.

That saw them more purposeful than ever which was testament to the cautious approach of the west African side.

4.  Flying Eagles must take Mozambique seriously

The Flying Eagles must take their game against Mozambique seriously if they get a win or draw against Egypt.

Despite the 3-0 defeat to Senegal, Mozambique are not out of the tournament as they can still make it to the quarterfinals with a win against Nigeria.

The quarterfinals stage will accommodate two teams who finish third  in the group stage.
