Race for Ligue 1 Golden Boot : Moffi closes in on Mbappe, Balogun, David after brace 

Nigeria international Terem Moffi is edging closer to three strikers in the race for the French Ligue 1 Golden Boot award for the 2022-2023 season. 

Moffi was at the double as OGC Nice thrashed Monaco 3-0 at the Stade Louis-II on Sunday evening - his first goals for the Eaglets since his arrival at the club on transfer deadline day last month. 

It has taken Moffi 260 minutes spread across four matches to open his goalscoring account for OGC Nice.

The number 9 celebrated his first goal in an OGC Nice shirt eight minutes into the contest after firing into the bottom corner following a through ball from Dante. 

The visitors doubled the advantage in the 26th minute courtesy of another goal from Moffi, and two minutes before the interval, he turned from scorer to provider when he teed up Khéphren Thuram for the game's third goal. 

Moffi has taken his haul to fourteen in the division to move within three strikes of Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is leading the way with seventeen goal after his brace against Marseille tonight. 

In the upcoming matches, the 23-year-old will fancy his chances of leapfrogging Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun and Lille's Jonathan David who are joint-second with fifteen goals. .
