Osimhen refuses to rule out the possibility of joining Manchester United in the summer
Published: March 16, 2023
Victor Osimhen has refused to rule out the possibility of transferring to Premier League giants Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are in the market for a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, and Osimhen has emerged as one of their transfer targets.
The Nigeria international is currently one of the hottest strikers in European football at the moment, with his brace against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night taking his tally for the season to 23 goals in all competitions.
Apart from Manchester United, Osimhen is being courted by several top European clubs following his outstanding season with Napoli.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, as have Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has reportedly placed a price tag of at least 120 million euros on Osimhen in an attempt to fend off interest from the European giants.
When asked to comment on interest from Manchester United and possibility of leaving Napoli in the summer, Osimhen said to German television channel Sport1 : "I don't know what the future holds. I think I'm on the right track. At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss everything.
"I will also be in talks with the club. I am incredibly grateful to Naples. We will find a good solution together."
A FIFA U17 World Cup winner with Nigeria's Golden Eaglets in 2015, Osimhen will enter the last two years of his contract with Napoli on July 1, 2023.
