Official : Arsenal legend will no longer be coaching Eze, Olise at Crystal Palace
Published: March 17, 2023
Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise will no longer be coached by legendary Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira at English Premier League club Crystal Palace.
With a statement on their official website, the Eagles announced on Friday morning that Vieira has left his post as first team manager.
Osian Roberts, Kristian Wilson and Saïd Aïgoun who were all members of Vieira's coaching staff have also departed the club.
A three-time Premier League winner with Arsenal, Vieira has been shown the exit door two days before Palace's trip to the Emirates Stadium to face his old club.
After 27 matches in the Premier League, Crystal Palace are 12th in the table with 27 points garnered but only three points above the relegation zone, and have not won in the Premier League since December 31.
Former Super Eagles invitee Olise was Vieira's first signing as Crystal Palace boss in 2021 and the London team snapped up another former Chelsea schoolboy of Nigerian descent in Malcolm Ebiowei the following season.
Eze made 46 appearances with Vieira in the Crystal Palace dugout and scored five goals while Olise played in 60 games and was involved in nineteen goals (6 goals, 13 assists).
Ebiowei and David Ozoh were handed their Premier League debuts by the Senegalese-born Vieira.
