Burnley discover how much it will cost to sign free-scoring Nigerian striker
Published: May 31, 2023
One of Burnley's main objectives in the summer transfer window is to sign a striker that can guarantee goals.
The Premier League newcomers have made enquiries over the availably of prolific Nigerian forward Gift Orban, who has taken the Jupiler Pro League by storm since his arrival from Stabæk in January 2023.
Despite the striker playing less than 50 games since turning professional, KAA Gent have underlined that they will not be selling him on the cheap.
According to fresh information from Sacha Tavolieri, Gent have set a 25 million euros price tag on the 20-year-old.
The report added that Gent were recently in talks with an investment group regarding a takeover but those discussions are on hold because they feel that the sale of the Nigerian could balance the books and put them in a good financial position.
Gent are hoping to make a 22 million-euro profit on the young Nigerian considering that he was signed for three million euros.
Orban has mustered 20 goals in 21 outings for Gent, including three hat-tricks in matches against Basaksehir, Zulte Waregem and Cercle Brugge.
The striker has also been linked with Union Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt, Galatasaray and Lille.
