Iwobi claims Everton Players' Player of the Season after club-high eight assists
Published: June 02, 2023Alex Iwobi has been voted by his Everton teammates as the Players’ Player of the Season for the 2022-2023 campaign.
The Toffees players were asked to select their standout performer in the recently concluded season, with Iwobi claiming majority of the votes.
Iwobi was outstanding in his fourth season as an Everton player, helping the Liverpool-based side avoid the drop on the final day of the season and also stood out for his versatility.
Over the course of the season, the Hale End Academy product played as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, right midfielder, right winger and left midfielder, which highlights his defensive and offensive abilities.
Iwobi racked up forty one appearances in the recently concluded season and registered a club-high eight assists while scoring two goals.
The midfielder's eye-catching displays also earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September 2022.
Iwobi started every match contested by Everton in the Premier League and was in action for 3,382 minutes.
