Osimhen's future: Pundit reveals Man Utd, Real Madrid, PSG want to sign a key striker
Published: June 04, 2023
Pasquale Salvione, director of Corriere dello Sport online, has spoken about the future of Victor Osimhen in an interview with Italian media.
There is uncertainty surrounding the future of the Nigeria international at Serie A champions Napoli despite the striker having two years left on his contract.
With 30 goals in 38 all-competition appearances this season, no club would turn down having a striker of Osimhen's quality.
Salvione has revealed that top European clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for a striker and he understands why Osimhen may decide to jump ship in the summer on a sporting level.
The 24-year-old's performances this season have been recognized by the big clubs in Europe, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG battling it out for his signature.
The price tag Napoli have set for Osimhen is said to be in the region of 150 million euros, which is more than double the figure they used to sign him from Lille in 2020.
"What will be the future of Osimhen ? You have to bring the money! The beauty of the market is that there are many rumors, indiscretions and gossip, but then you have to show up with a check from President De Laurentiis," Salvione said on 1 Football Club, via Area Napoli.
"Until this happens, the rumors will remain only such. There are many big names that have to take on an important striker, including (Manchester) United, Real and PSG.
"In such a situation, the ambition of the Nigerian striker is understandable, as is the work done by his recruiters."
Osimhen was recently named the best striker in the Serie A for the 2022-2023 campaign, and was also included in the division's Team of the Season.
