Super Eagles striker linked with departure from Southampton, drawing interest from 3 clubs
Published: June 08, 2023Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu is being linked with a departure from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
According to transfer market journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, Onuachu is attracting interest from German Bundesliga side Union Berlin, Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia side, Al Taawoun.
Writing on Twitter on Thursday afternoon, Tavolieri claims the Super Eagles star should leave the Saints before the transfer window closes for business.
Union Berlin struggled in front of goal all season in the Bundesliga, Galatasaray need a replacement for Mauro Icardi who has returned to PSG while Al Taawoun him to bolster their attack ahead of next season, hence the reason they are all interested in his services.
Onuachu moved to Southampton in the January transfer window but struggled for form and playing time as the Saints lost their Premier League status.
The 29-year-old featured in 11 Premier League games without scoring, a huge contrast to his form with Racing Genk where he scored 16 goals in 19 games in the first half of the season in the Jupiler Pro League
It remains to be seen whether Southampton will sell the Nigerian striker as they are yet to announce a new coach who will determine his future.
