'That's for sure' - Napoli president confident of keeping Osimhen next season
Published: July 10, 2023
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is confident of keeping Victor Osimhen beyond this summer.
Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli having been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG following his brilliant performances for Napoli last season.
Last season, only Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Alexandre Lacazette scored more goals in the top 5 leagues in Europe than the Nigerian striker who notched 26 goals in the Serie A.
With the Serie A champions wary of interest from other top clubs, they are ready to tie him down to a longer contract and have also slapped a hefty price on him.
De Laurentiis who has proven to be one of the tough negotiators in Europe is optimistic that the Super Eagles striker will be donning the Napoli jersey next season.
In quotes relayed by transfer Guru, Fabrizio Romano the Italian administrator said:"We will see Victor Osimhen wearing our shirt next season, that's for sure".
While the 74-year-old is positive that the last season's Serie A top scorer will remain in Naples, he also admitted that the club will have to sell him if they receive a lucrative bid.
"Then if a 'more than indecent proposal arrives, we will move on and find another top talent as we did with Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen," he concluded.
