Burnley learn asking price for former Nigeria U23 international
Published: July 17, 2023
English Premier League newcomers Burnley have learned how much they will pay to land the signature of one of the players being linked with a move to Turf Moor this summer.
According to Italian transfer market portal Tuttomercatoweb, former Nigeria U23 international David Okereke is valued at around 6-7 million euros by Cremonese.
As per the report, both Besiktas and Burnley have been monitoring the situation of Okereke but at the moment Cremonese are focused on the incoming market, that is strengthening the squad to enable them seal an immediate return to the Serie A.
In other words, Cremonese have to complete signings before the possible sale of Okereke, with further developments expected over the next few weeks.
The Grigiorossi have money in their transfer kitty with the sale of Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers to Glasgow Rangers for a guaranteed fee of five million euros.
Okereke registered twelve goal involvements in 38 appearances for Cremonese, which is not a bad return considering that the club struggled last season and suffered relegation.
The Clarets are aiming to bolster their attack this summer and have been heavily linked with a move for another striker of Nigerian descent, Nathan Tella but face a stumbling block in the form of his valuation by Southampton.
