Shola Shoretire was among the scorers as Manchester United U21s thrashed National League North club Chester 4-0 in a pre-season friendly staged at the Deva Stadium on Monday night.
Shoretire was one of the three Nigeria-eligible players named in the matchday squad by United's development squad manager, the others being Habeeb Ogunneye and Maxi Oyedele.
Oyedele and Shoretire trained with Manchester United's senior players in the first stage of pre-season preparations before traveling to the United States, where they featured in a friendly against Football League new boys Wrexham about two weeks ago.
Against Chester, Shoretire bundled the ball home to open the scoring in the 20th minute after Mejia's cross was parried by the goalkeeper.
Charlie McNeill doubled the advantage in the 35th minute, before second half goals from McNeill and Noam Emeran earned the young Red Devils a comprehensive win.

While Shoretire played the full game, Oyedele came off the bench at halftime and Ogunneye was a non-playing substitute.
Manchester United's development squad travel to Crystal Palace in their opening match of the new Premier League 2 season on Monday, August 14.
