Chelsea starlet, whose dad represented Super Eagles at USA 1994 WC, gets England U16 call-up

                    The English Football Association are ahead of the Nigeria Football Federation in the race for the services of talented Chelsea youngster Landon Emenalo.
Landon comes from a footballing family as his father, Michael Emenalo, represented the Super Eagles during his playing days.
A left-back by trade, the older Emenalo was a key member of Nigeria's squad to the 1994 World Cup in the United States of America, where he went the distance in very single played by the three-time African champions with the exception of ther opener against Bulgaria.
Chelsea youth team insider Chelsea Youth has informed via social media that Landon is among four Chelsea youth teamers called up for a pair of friendlies against Italy later this month.
Landon has earned a promotion to the Young Lions at U16 level for the 2023-2024 season after previously representing the U15 squad.
In February, he was in the England U15 squad that beat Belgium in back-to-back friendlies.
The 58-year-old Emenalo was technical director of Chelsea for six years before joining Monaco in a similar role.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, he oversaw the arrivals of 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winners Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo and attempted to sign ex-Nigeria U20 stars Isaac Success and Ganiu Ogungbe.
