'On the list for sure' - Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham Hotspur appreciate Gift Orban
Published: August 17, 2023
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur like Gift Orban and have been keeping tabs on his performances at Belgian Pro League side KAA Gent.
Orban has established a reputation as one of the finest young strikers in the whole of Europe, scoring 20 goals in 22 appearances in the second half of last season following his move from Stabæk Fotball, where he netted 19 goals in 24 games.
And he has continued his remarkable spell in front of goal in the new season by mustering five goals in four matches.
Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a proven goal scorer following the sale of their iconic player Harry Kane to Bayern Munich and have been linked with many strikers such as Romelu Lukaku, Dusan Vlahovic, Evan Ferguson, Elye Wahi and Gift Orban.
As extensively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, Tottenham have tested the waters regarding the possible signing of Orban but have not yet tabled an official bid to Gent.
"So, Gift Orban is a player that they have on the list, for sure. They like and appreciate him, they have been scouting him for a long time so, for sure, he’s a player on the list," Romano told GIVEMESPORT.
"And the player is really keen on a Premier League move so that could be positive for Tottenham Hotspur."
Although Gent have not placed a price tag on Orban, it is understood that the 2015 Belgian champions are looking to sell him for a fee of 30 million euros.
