'He's young, raw, explosive' - European football expert waxes lyrical about Tottenham target Orban

One of the players being considered by Tottenham Hotspur to replace Harry Kane is Nigerian striker Gift Orban.
The England and Tottenham Hotspur legend completed his transfer to Bayern Munich last week for a guaranteed fee of 100 million euros, and departed the Lilywhites as their all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 matches.
It will be difficult for Tottenham to sign a like-for-like replacement for Kane, given the profile he has as one of the best center forwards to grace the Premier League in the last decade.
Orban made a splash last season, netting 20 goals in 22 matches in all competitions for KAA Gent, and has had a fantastic start to the 2023-2024 campaign in the Pro League and Europa Conference League qualifiers with five goals in as many games.
European football expert Andy Brassell has described Orban as a young and explosive striker with enormous potential but questioned if he's ready to step up in the Premier League if signed by Tottenham Hotspur.
"They're going in a completely different direction because he's young, raw, explosive, and he's done brilliantly since his arrival in Belgium," Brassell said on Sky Sports' The Transfer Show.
"But in terms of him being ready you have to ask that because he did brilliantly in the back end of the Belgian league season but he only arrived in January from Norwegian football.
"To expect him to make that step up to scoring in the Premier League every week is a bit much. They can sort of buy themselves some time because he's got enormous potential."
He continued: "They've got Richarlison who can lead the line for the moment, do that bit as well, so they expect to get more out of him.
"When they've got Richarlison who had a frustrating season for one reason or another, certainly backing up Harry Kane is not easy for any top striker it's fair to say. Going for someone a bit younger may be a sensible approach."
Orban arrived at Gent for a fee of around three million euros but he's now valued at 30 million euros amid interest from top European clubs.
