Nigerian CB to train away from Fulham first team squad amid Tottenham, Monaco links
Published: August 28, 2023
English-born Nigerian central defender Tosin Adarabioyo is expected to seal a permanent transfer away from Fulham before the summer transfer window closes for business on Friday, September 1.
Sky Sports is reporting that Tosin will train away from the Fulham first-team squad this week, with a transfer on the cards before the deadline.
The Manchester City academy product has been linked with both Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco but the British sports channel has suggested the the Principality club are ahead of the Premier League side in the race for the services of the 25-year-old.
Tosin was a surprise inclusion in the Fulham team that registered an impressive 2-2 draw at Arsenal this past weekend and he went on to make his season debut in the 89th minute when he came on for Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
The centre-back did not feature in any of the pre-season games played by the Cottagers and was not called up for the first two games of the new season amid speculation surrounding his future.
Monaco want to sign an additional central defender before the window closes and their priority target is Tosin, who has less than one year left on his Fulham contract.
Fulham are targeting versatile Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier as a replacement for Tosin.
