'We've got a few of them'- Aina names four difference-makers for Nottingham Forest including Awoniyi
Published: September 29, 2023
Ola Aina has named fellow Nigeria international Taiwo Awoniyi and three others as the difference-makers in the current Nottingham Forest side.
The other names listed by the Cobham product are former Chelsea forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White and Manchester united academy product Anthony Elanga.
The quartet have played a role in Nottingham Forest decent start to the season that have seen them garner 7 points out of a possible 18 despite playing against Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea already.
Awoniyi has five goals contributions, Elanga has two while Hudson-Odoi and Gibbs-White have one apiece for Steve Cooper's side in the Premier League.
Aina listed the aforementioned players as the difference-makers in the Nottingham Forest team in an interview with the club's website.
"First and foremost, everyone's key in the team and everyone's got a role to play," Aina said ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash versus Brentford.
"There will be moments in the season where we'll look to someone and we've got a few of them in our team, from Morgan, Callum, Anthony and Taiwo.
"Even in midfield we've got players who can make the difference, so it's really good to have that.
"We've got several in the team so it gives us confidence heading into games."
The Super Eagles fullback has also played his part in Forest's bright start to the season featuring in all but one game for the two-time European champions in the league.
The 26-year-old's ability to play conveniently at both full back positions has been helpful to Cooper, who has had to make tactical changes during games or make alterations to his team due to injuries.
