Three Nigerian forwards nominated for Crystal Palace Goal of the Month for October
Published: November 01, 2023
Three Nigerian forwards have been nominated for Crystal Palace's Goal of the Month award for October 2023.
Crystal Palace's official website has compiled a shortlist of the eight best goals scored across all levels of the club for the month of October.
Goals scored by 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ademola Ola-Adebomi, 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei and Franco Umeh have been shortlisted for the monthly accolade.
The other five contenders for the monthly award are Jordan Ayew, Shanade Hopcroft, Annabel Blanchard, Araya Dennis and Hindolo Mustapha.
Ola-Adebomi was in a rich vein of form for the Eagles in the Premier League 2 last month, scoring three goals in two appearances, and his strike versus Liverpool U21s on October 1 is up for the award.
The lanky striker broke the deadlock in the 13th minute when he controlled the ball on his chest, took a touch, and hit it with the outside of his left boot - beating Marcelo Pitaluga in the Liverpool goal.
Ebiowei's stunning strike in Palace's 3-1 win over Monaco in a Premier League International Cup tie on October 24 has been shortlisted and Umeh was nominated for his goal against Liverpool in the Premier League 2.
Umeh pulled one back for Crystal Palace in the fourth minute of stoppage time after he was teed up by Ebiowei.
