Tottenham Hotspur coach provides update on fitness of Nigeria-eligible defender
Published: November 02, 2023
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the fitness of Nigeria-eligible fullback Destiny Udogie ahead of his side's encounter with Chelsea on matchday 11 of the Premier League on Monday.
The 20-year-old last featured for Spurs in their 2-0 victory over Fulham where he was substituted four minutes before the hour mark.
While he has yet to provide an assist since September, the left-back has been one of the consistent performers for the table-toppers since the start of the campaign.
During his media duties ahead of the game against the Blues, Postecoglou said he would have to make a late call on whether to field Udogie in the encounter.
"We'll see how Destiny progresses," Postecoglou told SPURSPLAY on Thursday.
"Obviously he's still got a few days before the Monday game. He's progressing through it but we'll assess him closer to it."
The former Hellas Verona defender has made 9 appearances in the Premier League this season and has bagged two assists.
Tottenham will be seeking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they host Mauricio Pochettino's side on Monday.
They sit atop the Premier League table with 26 points garnered so far, which is fourteen more than their next opponents.
