Portugal underage international Leo Cardoso has taken to social media to confirm that he has signed a new deal at Chelsea.
Described as an exciting and talented player by Chelsea's official website, Cardoso disclosed that he has put pen to paper on his first professional contract at the Blues.
He began the 2023-2024 season as a first-year scholar but is now a young professional after turning 17.

As per Premier League rules, all players in their U17 year are required to start the season on a scholarship agreement, before they are permitted to sign a first professional football contract on or after their 17th birthday.
Cardoso has been on the books of Chelsea since U15 level after he was poached from West Brom.
"Delighted to have signed my first pro! Really proud day for me and my family. Looking forward to the journey ahead and pushing on," he wrote on Instagram on Friday evening.
The 17-year-old can play in multiple positions including winger and attacking midfielder, and has impressive technical and dribbling ability.
In his final season as a schoolboy, he represented Chelsea in the U18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup, scoring two goals in three appearances.
Born in Aldama Setubal, Portugal, Cardoso has represented England at U15 level.
