Official: MLS club St. Louis City SC exercise 2024 contract option on Nigerian forward

Through their official website, Major League Soccer club St. Louis City SC have announced end of season roster decisions following the conclusion of the regular season.
St. Louis City SC have exercised the option on Samuel Adeniran, meaning the Nigerian forward is contracted to the Missouri outfit for the 2024 campaign.
The club also exercised contract options for seven other players namely midfielders AZ Jackson, Celio Pompeu, Jared Stroud and Akil Watts and defenders Lucas Bartlett, Anthony Markanich and Josh Yaro.
Adeniran started his professional career in Spain with the B team of Leganes, where he took in loan spells at Segunda División B side Castellón and Guadalajara, for whom he scored seven goals in 14 appearances.
He played in Germany for Kickers Emden and Atlas Delmenhorst before returning to the United States to join USL Championship side Tacoma Defiance.
A member of the Seattle Sounders squad that won the 2021-2022 Concacaf Champions League, Adeniran transferred to St. Louis City SC ahead of the 2023 season.
The 25-year-old found the back of the net eight times in 22 all-competition appearances in his debut season at St. Louis City SC while providing an assist.
