Iwobi's brilliant effort against favourite PL opponents nominated for Fulham Goal of the Month
Published: December 01, 2023Alex Iwobi's brilliant strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers has been nominated for Fulham's Goal of the Month award for November 2023.
This is the second time this season that the Nigeria national teamer has been shortlisted for the monthly accolade following his move from Everton on transfer deadline day, having been nominated for the September prize.
In a thrilling contest at Craven Cottage, Fulham broke the deadlock in the seventh minute through Iwobi, who ran across the face of the Wolverhampton Wanderers goal to tuck the ball in from a great cutback by Antonee Robinson.
Iwobi's first Premier League goal for Fulham was scored in his eighth appearance for them and after logging 470 minutes.
Wolves are Iwobi's favourite Premier League opponents as he has scored more against the Wanderers than any other team - four goals in nine matches.
In his bid to win the Goal of the Month, Iwobi faces competition from Harry Wilson, Rodrigo Muniz, Tom Cairney, Luciano D'Auria-Henry, Luke Harris and Raúl Jiménez,
In an action-packed month for Fulham, Marco Silva's side have eight games scheduled including trips to Liverpool, Newcastle United and Everton and the visit of Iwobi's boyhood club Arsenal.
The Nigeria international will be hoping to increase his goal haul for the season before linking up with the Super Eagles at their Africa Cup of Nations training camp.
