Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has spoken about his recent role at Leicester City following the appointment of Enzo Maresca.
The Foxes secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Hawthorns in the Championship on Saturday, with Ndidi providing his fourth assist since the start of October.
Leicester City in the 72nd minute opened the scoring when Ndidi delivered a precise cross headed inside the net by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Dewsbury-Hall then played a crucial role in the decisive goal, turning provider for Harry Winks after Josh Maja had equalized for West Brom in the 89th minute.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Ndidi shared insights into his newfound role, expressing enthusiasm about the learning experience it provides.
He highlighted the awareness it gives him about his surroundings, emphasizing the importance of making calculated runs and occasionally keeping things simple.
Ndidi stated: "Yes, of course, it is an amazing role. We learn every day; I am actually enjoying myslef because it is giving me the awareness to know my surroundings, how to make the run and how to keep it simple sometimes, and I am just enjoying the role, and it's been brilliant."
Since the appointment of Enzo Maresca, Ndidi has been deployed in a central midfield position, affording him the freedom and privilege to influence the game.
The shift in his role seems to have brought out the best in the Nigerian midfielder, as evidenced by his performances and crucial contributions to the team's success.
