Chukwuemeka sends message to Colwill as England defender scores first-ever goal for Chelsea
Published: December 04, 2023Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has sent a message to Levi Colwill after the England defender netted his first-ever goal for Chelsea.
Colwill opened his goalscoring account for the two-time European champions in their 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon on matchday 14 of the Premier League
The talented centre-back scored the home side's second goal of the encounter when he headed the ball into the back of the net in the 21st minute of the game.
It was the 20-year-old first start for the Blues since their 4-1 win over Tottenham and the youngster must have been glad to have finally opened his goalscoring account.
In response to Colwill's post on Instagram about his first goal for Chelsea, Chukwuemeka wrote, 'Yessir'.
Chukwuemeka is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered against West Ham on match day two of the Premier League.
He had earlier resumed training in October but suffered a relapse which has kept him further on the sidelines.
It is uncertain when the Anglo-Nigerian midfielder will return to action but he will be hoping he can return to the field very soon.
