Reading winger Paul Mukairu has beaten Blackpool forward Kylian Kouassi, Wycombe Wanderers star Franco Ravizzoli and Derby County's Kane Wilson to the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Player of the Round which is an award given to the best player in the EFL Trophy at the end of the group stage games.
Mukairu registered 3 goals and two assists in 3 games to see off competition from other nominees to win the award and help Reading top Group C in grand style.
The FC Copenhagen loanee emerged the winner of the award which was determined by 2,500 voters on Twitter, earning 51% of all the votes cast.
Coincidentally, the 23-year-old made his full debut in the competition having featured for 63 minutes in Reading's record victory against Exeter City in September and bagged a brace in the encounter.
He followed it up with 1 goal and an assist in the second matchday before rounding it up with another goal contribution against Arsenal U21s.
The 2000-born winger joined Rubén Sellés' side on a loan deal from FC Copenhagen in the summer and has made 15 appearances across all competitions.
While he started all of Reading's fixtures in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, he has started just two games in League One with his other 8 appearances being as a substitute.
