Confirmed: Former Arsenal and Liverpool starlet Ejaria leaves Reading by mutual consent
Published: December 18, 2023
Through a statement on their official website, Reading have announced that former Arsenal and Liverpool starlet Ovie Ejaria has left the club by mutual consent.
Ejaria has been with the EFL club since the second half of the 2018-2019 season when he spent a loan term with the club from Liverpool.
He was acquired on a permanent basis in the summer of 2020 and did fairly well in the first two seasons at the Royals, recording 8 goal involvements in two consecutive seasons.
The 26-year-old has struggled with injury and fitness problems, thereby explaining why the player and the League One outfit have decided to terminate his contract.
He made 127 appearances across all competitions for Reading and registered 22 goal involvements.
During his time at Liverpool, the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup winner impressed with the youth sides before the Reds decided to send him out on a couple of loan spells to gather experience and game time.
Ejaria's first loan spell was with Sunderland before moving to Rangers where Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was managing the Scottish giants.
With the transfer window reopening next month, he will be hoping he can get his career going with a new club.
