Aston Villa confident Super Eagles striker could be signed for N5.7-N11.4b in January

Aston Villa are pushing to sign Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho in the January transfer window.
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are confident that Iheanacho could be prised from Leicester City for a fee of around £5-10million (N5.7-N11.4billion in Nigerian currency) in the January transfer window.
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is in the market for at least one forward to share the goalscoring burden with Ollie Watkins, who has mustered 40 goal involvements (28 goals, 12 assists) in 51 appearances since the Spaniard was appointed coach.
Iheanacho's contract with Leicester City expires on June 30, 2024, meaning he would be free to negotiate and sign a preliminary contract with a foreign club in January.
The Foxes are keen to tie down the Nigeria international to a new contract but there is no headway in the discussions between the two parties.
A product of the Manchester City academy, Iheanacho joined Leicester City in exchange for £25 million in 2017.
In 226 appearances for the King Power Stadium outfit, the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner has scored 61 goals while registering 35 assists.
The future of Iheanacho's international teammate, Wilfred Ndidi is also up in the air, with his contract also running out at the end of the season.
