Published: December 24, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Odel Offiah has returned to Brighton & Hove after his loan spell with Heart of Midlothian was cut short.
The talented centre-back is said to have suffered some medical issues during his stay with Hearts which has made the Seagulls recall him from the Scottish side.
He joined the Scottish Premiership club in the summer and was able to make 9 appearances across all the competitions- four of which he started and also recorded a goal which he bagged in the Scottish League Cup in Heart's triumph over Partick Thistle in August.
With the extent of his medical issue unknown, it remains to be seen what Brighton will do regarding the future of the English-born defender.
Before his move to Scotland, he inked a new deal with the Seagulls which will keep him at the American Express Stadium till the summer of 2025.
He joined Brighton on a scholarship deal in 2017 and made over sixty-eight appearances for the youth sides and has also had the privilege of playing for the club's first team on 5 occasions.
With several centre-back options available to Roberto De Zerbi, it remains to be seen whether Offiah will feature for the Premier League side next year.
