Solanke joins Arsenal and Liverpool stars in BBC's Premier League Team of the Week
Published: December 24, 2023
BBC football pundit Garth Crooks has selected his Premier League Team of the Week for matchday 18, with one Super Eagles-eligible player making the cut.
Bournemouth attacker Dominic Solanke has been recognized for his outstanding performance in the Cherries come from behind 3-2 win against Ola Aina's Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.
The former England international netted his first-ever hat-trick in Bournemouth's victory over the two-time European champions.
Five different clubs have contributed players to the Team of the Week namely Burnley, Liverpool, West Ham United, Arsenal and Bournemouth.
Goalkeeper James Trafford (Burnley) is protected by a back three of Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kurt Zouma (West Ham) and Ibrahima Konate (Liverpool).
In midfield, West Ham's Ghana dazzler Mohammed Kudus is joined by Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, and Burnley super kid Wilson Odobert.
In attack, Solanke is flanked by Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah and West Ham's Jarrod Bowen.
Highlighting the strong performance of the Chelsea academy product, Garth Crooks stated: "I do not think you will see a better hat-trick all season.
"Bournemouth have developed a centre-forward capable of leading the line of any Premier League team. The issue for the south-coast club now is how long can they hold on to Solanke?"
